Overview
QA Analyst with experience in functional testing to ensure the quality of applications in an Agile environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and executing test cases, managing defects, validating acceptance criteria, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality software deliveries. Experience with Jira, Xray, Confluence, Postman/API Lifecycle, and JMeter is highly valued.
Work Modality: Hybrid – Costa Rica
Schedule: Monday to Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
English Level: Intermediate required; advanced preferred
Your Role and Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
• Participate in user story refinement sessions and collaborate with development and business teams.
• Review and validate acceptance criteria to ensure proper test coverage.
• Design test cases, test sets, and execution plans aligned with assigned stories.
• Execute functional testing cycles and validate the correct behavior of the solutions.
• Identify, document, and track defects, including severity, evidence, and traceability.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes.
• Create test scenarios based on defined acceptance criteria.
• Prepare, obtain, and manage the data required for test execution.
• Contribute to the definition and continuous improvement of testing strategies.
• Identify risks that may affect project objectives and propose mitigation actions.
• Maintain effective communication with technical and functional teams to ensure delivery quality.
REQUIREMENTS
What This Role Requires
• Academic background in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields.
• Previous experience as a QA Analyst, Software Tester, or in related quality assurance roles.
• Experience in the analysis, design, and execution of functional testing.
• Knowledge of testing best practices, ideally aligned with ISTQB.
• Experience working under agile methodologies.
• Experience in defect management, documentation, and tracking.
• Ability to estimate testing efforts and plan quality-related activities.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to identify risks and propose mitigation solutions.
• Results-oriented mindset and collaborative work approach.
